The design presents a strong, monolithic volume that appears to hover lightly above a recessed ground plane. The composition emphasises horizontal layering and visual contrast, balancing solidity with permeability.
Off-form concrete in a pinewood timber pattern forms the front facade of the house, articulated with a rhythmic arrangement of subtle horizontal drip plates that introduces not only depth and shadow across the façade, but also functions to reduce staining on the facade. This controlled repetition softens the massing while maintaining a clean, contemporary language.

The highlight of the house is the courtyard, where architecture and landscape are seamlessly integrated to create a calm, inward-facing retreat. The layout is organised around the double-volume central courtyard, allowing natural light and ventilation to penetrate deep into the interior while maintaining privacy from the external surroundings.
